Alpha Olefin C16
Product description and Properties
Alpha olefin C16 (α-C16 Olefin), chemically known as 1-hexadecene (C16H32), is a linear unsaturated hydrocarbon with a terminal double bond at the alpha position. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of approximately 280-300°C and a density of 0.77-0.80 g/cm³, insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Due to its reactive double bond, α-C16 Olefin undergoes addition, polymerization, and oxidation reactions, forming saturated hydrocarbons, polyalphaolefins, or oxidized derivatives.
Product Applications
Alpha Olefin C16 is widely used in producing synthetic lubricants, polymers, plasticizers, personal care products, chemical intermediates, as well as in paper sizing and coatings.
